“Meet him at the pier arcades.10am tmw. Come alone!!”

Brighton pier was unusually quiet for a summer’s day. The confectionary shops and tarot card stands that were almost always met with a long line of boisterous teenagers or parents with screaming kids were just setting up for the day as Nina headed along the rickety boardwalk towards the amusement arcades. She crossed her fingers as she thought about Leeroy agreeing to protect her and her family, he was her only hope. Ideally she wanted him to accept a higher payment to go after Harry and sort him out once and for all but even if he refused, the offer of some guaranteed protection for the next few weeks would give her time to get her head straight as she came up with a plan of action. She pushed the door to the amusement arcades open and stepped inside. She was shocked at how many people were out gambling at this time of morning, this was clearly where all of the early morning ‘pier activity’ was. Nina walked past a small group of teenagers that were surrounding a brightly coloured, all singing, all dancing slot machine.
